Our company exists to promote and protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We do this by designing, building, and supporting security and intelligence products primarily small, lightweight, high performance radar systems for unmanned and manned aircraft. 

We are looking for talented senior Radar Engineers in the areas of Hardware Design, Firmware Design, Embedded Software, and Systems & Signal Processing. We are looking for those with the skills and experience to provide technical leadership over, help secure funding for, and advance our radar products. The job requires quick thinking and an ability to grasp complex systems. You'll be working with a talented team and with a compelling product, and will have an opportunity to make a big difference for the company and for our customers who need the capabilities we can provide.

  • have at least 10 years' experience working with radar and other relevant sensor systems.

We are looking for people with experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Radar Hardware Design:
    • Antenna design including traditional antennas as well as steerable antenna technologies
    • Transceiver design including power amplifiers, mixers, and RF isolation at UHF through W bands
    • Experience using high speed DACs and ADCs
    • Creating various low phase-noise source generators including: pulsed, LFMCW, phase-coded pulses, frequency hopping, etc.
    • Simulator expertise including 3D-EM (HFSS, EMpro), planar EM (Planar HFSS, Momentum), harmonic balance, time domain, etc.
    • Must employ RF PCB design techniques using surface mount technologies
    • Must be able to create high-performance designs that result in manufacturable units
  • Firmware Design:
    • Implement various radar-centric FPGA designs including: digital mixing, FIR filter, I/Q data generation, Cordic transformations, radar signal processing algorithms
    • Familiar using bus architectures, such as PCI express and VME
    • Familiar with RF cores, soft cores, and DAC and ADC interfaces (especially JESD204)
    • Precise timing and synchronization between waveform generation and data capture
  • Radar Embedded Software:
    • Familiar with real-time OS, such as Vx works
    • Extensive experience with C++
    • Able to design and articulate a software architecture that a dedicated embedded software team can help implement
    • Data transfer protocols such as UDP, TCP/IP, PCI express
    • Implement real-time radar controls as well as radar algorithms
  • Radar Systems and Signal Processing:
    • Deriving requirements including radar range equation, clutter modeling, phase noise modeling, modeling receiver systems
    • Writing proposals and providing ROMs for RIFs, BAAs, and SBIRs for a variety of radar systems
    • Radar SAR algorithms, including back projection, RDA, FDA, frequency techniques, autofocus and change detection
    • GMTI systems, including: clutter cancelling algorithms, STAP, angle estimation (monopulse, MUSIC, etc.), CFAR detection, target tracking, I/Q processing, windowing, pulse compression, etc.
    • Python, C++, and machine learning
    • MHT, scan patterns, steerable arrays
